Trail Work

Maintaining the horse trails in and around Spruce Creek Acres is a work always in progress. Just when we think we have the trails in great condition, mother nature sends another storm our way. We try to organize a couple of trail work days each month from spring until autumn. Work days are always weather and volunteer turn out dependent.

Over the years, some of our major projects include:

2007 Troxel Woods Trail head parking lot

2012-13 Work on Proctor Ridge trail in conjunction with the park

2014 Re-route part of Wild Cat Den trail

2017 Work on south side of Hatfield creek crossing on Wild Cat Den trail

2018 Improve the trail between Trail Head Lane and Cumberland Valley Trail head, work on north side of Hatfield creek crossing on Wild Cat Den trail, re-route part of Evergreen trail, and regrade parts of Wild Cat Den trail to the park entrance

2019 Many repairs on the Crocket Crest section of the Tee Pee loop, along with trail surface repairs on several sections of the Spruce Creek trail.
